Dingle Activities

The Dingle Peninsula has so much to offer including festivals, day trips, scenic drives, archaeological tours, horse riding in the mountains and on the beach and sea fishing.  There is something for everyone!

Slea Head:

The most scenic drive in Ireland is around Slea Head and as you round the promontory, the views of the Blasket Islands are breathtaking!

Blasket Island Day trips:

The Blasket Islands are steeped in Irish culture and make for a peaceful haven.  Trips can be arranged from the house to the islands and to top a perfect day out, we can also arrange picnics & packed lunches.  Blasket Island Ferries

Blasket Centre:

If you want to know more about Blasket history, a visit to the Blasket centre overlooking the Blasket sound is definitely worthwhile.  It explains the literature, language and way of life of the inhabitants of the Blasket Islands. The island has not been occupied since 1953.

Archaeological tours:

A guided two-hour tour, from the house, of the Peninsula’s many sites from the Bronze Age to Medieval times including tomb sites, holy wells and castles.

Arranged & booked at Emlagh House.

Horseriding:

Enjoy the stunning beaches and magnificent mountains on horseback!  The horses have a great temperament and are well suited to the terrain.

Beginners – 1 ½ hour rides.  Experienced riders – half & full day rides.

Arranged & booked at Emlagh House.

Sea fishing:

Weather permitting, it is best to book this fishing trip ahead of time.  Visit Dingle Bay Charters for information on numerous marine activities in and around Dingle Bay.
